During Discover programs we hope to provide ourselves as organized and professional. It was great to see a few familiar faces of students I had met at high schools that week. I spoke with one household who had driven about four hours to attend! While we loved that the family was there, please don’t believe you’ve got to make that sacrifice. If we aren’t coming to a city towards you, please feel free to simply let your admission counselor know that you want more information but can not attend a Discover system.
Once our formal presentation is over there is a chance to ask questions and hear from admission counselors from academic divisions. Students can split into groups according to area of interest and ask major questions that are related well. I heard from many families have been having their first experience with USC that evening. A few other moms and dads shared they had already been to USC, but they learned something new which somehow changed their perspective on the college application process or about USC with me that. With our December 1 deadline approaching, its almost that time of the year when our office is delivered hundreds of thousands of applications, transcripts, test scores and letters of recommendation.
